The Sea Since time out of mind, mortal man has been mystified by,
terrified of, and hypnotically drawn to the deep blue sea. And here is one
man's online tribute to "Bounding Main", containing everything
from little known factoids about the sea to very colorful and informative
maps. Detailed descriptions of each of the main oceans and seas are present
as well as information about Mother Nature's effect on Father Sea -
hurricanes, ocean currents and tidal waves. Explore the awesome power of the
sea, the mystic force of the tides, or just visit with a few of the more
fascinating creatures who make the sea their home. Excellent navigational
qualities and above-average graphics make this a worthwhile visit for anyone
who wants to learn more about the world around us.

Focus On Oceanography The
Office of Naval Research's Science and Technology branch welcomes you to
their website focusing on oceanography. The ONR's research is the foundation
for the technologies and equipment that the United States Navy and Marine
Corps use everyday - and many of these technologies eventually trickle down
or spin-off to regular folks like you and me. Use this site to learn about
everything from kelp forests and coral reefs to beaches and hydrothermal
vents, or pose a question to the experts in the Ask-the-Cyberscientist
section. http://www.onr.navy.mil/focus/ocean/
- Clean Boating Lesson Plan --
The state of Maryland, as part of the Maryland Clean
Marina Initiative, has developed educational materials for boaters which
have been assembled in a Clean
Boating Lesson Plan which is available online in Adobe Acrobat™ format
(165K). This resource contains information on pollution problems and
actions boaters can take to help prevent water pollution. Although the
lessons are geared to Maryland regulations, they are easily adaptable to all
areas. The Lesson Plan contains pages which can be made into overhead
transparencies for classroom use.

excellent way to present information about their recent class projects in a
way that is both easy to navigate and interesting to explore. An
alphabetical list of projects allows you to learn about the physics of
everything from acoustic guitars to simple machines, and the time and effort
that the students put into writing, collecting graphics, and creating other
